The device, in detail

Two rapid-exchange short tracks, one at each end of the balloon.

Anchor DST dual short-track balloon catheter

Proximal short track

  • Auto-perfusion during long inflations
  • In-situ guidewire exchange along the first wire
  • Parallel-wire pushability for crossing

Distal short track

  • Balloon distal exit for fast device exchange
  • Multi-device delivery through tortuous anatomy
  • Intravascular anchoring in curved lesions

A rapid-exchange port at each end.

The Anchor™ DST is a rapid-exchange balloon with a short track at each end of the balloon, combining a dual-lumen microcatheter with a dilation balloon. Both lumens accept 0.014 in guidewires for smooth passage.

Used alone, either short track handles balloon distal exit, auto-perfusion, multi-device delivery, and anchoring in curved vessels. Used together, the two tracks enable in-situ guidewire exchange and extra pushability with parallel wires.

What the dual short track enables

Using one short track

01

Distal exit for fast device exchange

Rapid-exchange ports let the balloon withdraw quickly from the guidewire, shortening procedure time and reducing the risk of accidental guidewire retention.

02

Auto-perfusion during dilation

Blood flows through the proximal and distal short tracks while the balloon is inflated, maintaining vessel patency during long inflations.

03

Multi-device delivery

Guides a stent or other device through tortuous anatomy, then straightens the vessel to help the device pass.

04

Intravascular anchoring

Anchors in curved lesions to provide the support complex crossing often needs.

Using both short tracks

05

In-situ guidewire exchange

Carry a new guidewire along the original one to the lesion, preventing the new wire from entering a false lumen or side branch.

06

Parallel-wire pushability

Two guidewires in parallel through the proximal and distal tracks add pushing force for crossing complex lesions.
